Iron CJ Intake Ports
The
intake ports just got the typical treatment you would include in any intake porting job.
- The bowl transitions were pretty poor as cast so I cleaned them up.
The transition from the throat of the seat to the bowl are now smooth and almost
the same size.
- The entire rough cast port surface was smoothed with cartridge rolls.
- Some little bumps hear and there were removed if small enough and smoothed
if the couldn't be completely removed.
- The back side of the guide boss was dramatically reduced. (Some
people say you can eliminate the back side of the guide boss completely.)
- The front side the guide boss was smoothed. It MIGHT be worth
shaping it into a fin to direct flow, but looking at the these awesome
intake ports it just didn't seem necessary.
The only thing keeping these ports from being a straight shot is the curve
around the push rod hole. It is just too big to remove.
